Railroad service begins between Boston and Cape Cod.

Initially stopping at Hyannis, the line is subsequently extended to Wellfleet. Service is cut back after the rise of automobile use in the 20th century and ends in 1958. It is reintroduced to Hyannis on June 30, 1961, lapses again, reintroduced in 1984, again lapses, and reintroduced most recently on May 24, 2013.
